Nathan is 7 months old!

Today Nathan is 7 months old! It's been a big month for Nathan, full of lots of milestones. Just after he turned 6 months, the constant spitting up slowed and then stopped! He almost never spits up anymore. Just 6 days ago we stopped his medication for reflux and he is doing great without it! It's such a relief to no longer have to give him the medicine, timing it between feedings and sleep.

He is now sitting up without support and crawling on his belly. Twice he's gone from laying down to sitting up, but I have not yet seen him do it. One minute he's on his back or belly, then I turn away and then back, and he's sitting up! He's also clapping his hands, and banging toys together.

We bought a new car seat/booster seat for Emma and have moved Nathan into her old car seat, as Nathan has outgrown the infant carrier. He is so much happier in the bigger seat, he has not cried once in it!

A few days ago he came down with an ear infection, and was running a temperature of 104. So we went to the dr and he weighs 20 pounds, 5 ounces! He hates the antibiotic they gave him and spits most of it out. His fever is gone but he's still not feeling too well. His teeth are really hurting him, he's drooling and chewing on everything.

He's crawled into the kitchen once, and through the office, so we have put up one gate to keep to him off the stairs. He can get up on all fours, and rock back and forth, but hasn't yet mastered crawling this way. He's still pulling and pushing himself along on his tummy.

We have started solid foods and he seems to like them. We started with rice cereal, and he's also tried peas and avocado. So far he likes them all. So far I am only buying the baby cereal. I've made the peas and avocado puree myself. It does take time but it's so much less expensive. I think next we'll try carrots and green beans, whenever I get around to making them!

He babbles quite a bit and can say "mama". He also says "da". He's developed a very high pitch scream when he gets upset, but thankfully that's not too often (mostly just when I leave his sight). He's generally a very happy, smiling baby, as his sister was before him. He loves Emma and she can still make him laugh better than anyone. When we are in the car, he just stares at her. Anytime he's crying she will sing to him, making up some pretty imaginative songs. We see a beautiful sibling relationship developing and we know we are so blessed to have them both!
