Nathan is four months old!

Monday Nathan turned 4 months old! Yesterday we went to the dr to follow up for his reflux issues. He weighs 17 pounds 7 ounces! Such a big boy! We got a second medicine for the reflux, so he now takes Zantac and Prilosec.

He has great head and neck control but is really not rolling over much. I think he just weighs too much and it's going to be a while before he can roll because he wants too. He is smiling a lot and even laughing and giggling. Any time I attempt to get the giggling on video, he stops and stares at the camera, just like Emma used to do.

We will go for Nathan's official 4 month dr visit on Feb. 8th. Then he will get vaccinations and we will get his weight, height, head circumference and the percentiles for each of those.

Emma's 3 year well check

Today we took Emma to the dr for her 3 yr well check. She weighs 33 pounds (75th percentile) and she is 37 inches tall (50th percentile)! The dr quizzed her on shapes and colors, and she did very well. She was also able to jump on one foot and bent over to touch her toes. She enjoyed getting the doctor's full attention too!

No More Milk - for me!

I took Nathan to the dr yesterday due to his continuing tummy issues. The dr wants me to try eliminating dairy from my diet, as she suspects he is sensitive to milk proteins. I tried this when he was about 6-8 weeks for a few weeks and he seemed to get better, and I slowly started enjoying diary again. But now he is having obvious stomach pains all day and night so we are trying again. Since I get about half of my daily calories from diary, I am hoping this will help me lose the rest of my baby weight.

He weighed in 16 pounds, 10 ounces! I knew he was getting big, I almost can't carry him in the car seat carrier anymore.

I can't leave out the latest on Emma. On Dec. 31st, I started putting her in panties during the day. The first 2 days we had a couple of accidents each day, but since then she is using the potty all day, at home, school, and when we are out! It's so nice to have her out of diapers, the washing machine was running all day and night with two kids in cloth diapers! She is still wearing one at night but I am not rushing that change. One of the ways I know she stays hydrated is to let her drink lots of water before bed, so I think it will be a while before we change that.

Making dirt pies!

First time in outside swing!

I took the kids outside today to play and Nathan got to swing for the first time! He liked it! And he looks so cute in his polar bear jacket.

Fire fighter Emma

A Visit to Fire Station 29, part 2.

Here is Emma with a fireman's hat sitting on the side of a fire truck. She really enjoyed exploring the station. She got to climb inside the fire engine and she got to check out the sleeping quarters. She even stated that she wants to be a fire fighter when she gets bigger!

A Visit to Fire Station 29, part 1.

On New Year's Eve morning we decided to take the kids and visit the firehouse down the road. We were so lucky to see two of the four fire fighters that responded when Nathan was born. Here is Nathan with Marcell and Dana. Dana is the one that took over from Tony and finished delivering Nathan. Not pictured is Eli and Jack. I remember Eli telling me as Nathan was born that I was doing a great job and that Nathan was ok. Just as we were leaving Eli arrived so we were able to thank him in person.

Holiday family fun!

We completed this 1000 piece puzzle over Christmas with the Smith Family. Everyone helped and we had a great time working on it. Personally I love puzzles and it was nice to use a different part of my brain again!
